Kaijin-Ryu Karate is a full-contact, contemporary style of non-traditional karate. This practical style is the integration of modern striking techniques derived from both sport and traditional karate, boxing, kick boxing and Muay Thai, with grappling, Judo and folk-style wrestling. Striking and grappling are taught in equal portions.
Kaijin-Ryu Karate does not teach traditional kihon waza nor kata, rather, "kihon bunkai" and "kumite kata" (partner application of basic techniques and pre-arranged fighting drills). These basic techniques and fighting drills interweave striking with throwing techniques.
